The mission of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering is to provide comprehensive, internationally oriented engineering education and research opportunities that address the current and future needs of industry, academia, and society. In this context, our primary goal is to educate individuals who can work effectively in interdisciplinary teams, possess strong research competence, are open to collaboration, have well-developed analytical thinking skills, and are capable of integrating scientific knowledge with an engineering mindset to develop innovative and impactful solutions to societal challenges.
Additionally, we aim to offer our students research-based learning opportunities that allow them to deepen their expertise in their respective fields, engage in pioneering scientific and technological studies, and develop into highly qualified materials engineers and scientists who are sought after in both academic and professional environments.
