Doctoral Application Criteria
The following criteria must be met by candidates wishing to pursue a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering:
1. Candidates must have taken the ALES exam and obtained a minimum score of 55 in the relevant subject area, or an equivalent score on exams such as GRE or GMAT.
2. Candidates must have obtained a minimum score of 55 or an equivalent score on a foreign language exam other than their native language.
3. Students graduating from the Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Materials Engineering, Ceramics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering departments of universities can apply to our doctoral program.
4. A one-semester Scientific Preparatory Program is applied to undergraduate graduates from departments other than Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Ceramics Engineering.
Note: Applicants to doctoral programs must achieve a minimum score of 70 out of 100, calculated as follows: 50% of their ALES score (or equivalent score from GRE or GMAT), 15% of their master’s degree GPA, 15% of their foreign language proficiency test score (according to the University Academic Council), and 20% of their interview score.
