As the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Afyon Kocatepe University, our primary goal is to impart theoretical and applied knowledge of various material types to our students and to train qualified engineers who can integrate this knowledge into design, development, and technological applications.
In the first year of our program, fundamental engineering courses in mathematics, physics, and chemistry are offered; in subsequent years, in addition to professional courses such as Introduction to Materials Science, Basic Materials Knowledge, Materials Thermodynamics, Production and Process Methods, nanotechnology and various elective courses are offered to help students deepen their knowledge in the field.
Furthermore, to enable our students to gain experience in project development, execution, and presentation before graduation, TÜBİTAK-supported undergraduate graduation projects are encouraged and actively supported.
In addition, students are given the opportunity to participate as scholarship recipients or researchers in national and international projects conducted within our department, aiming to foster a research culture and increase the number of qualified human resources.
